The team behind The Elder Scrolls 6 have announced a way for you to be immortalised as an NPC in the long-awaited sequel.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was officially announced in 2018 and Bethesda game director Todd Howard has confirmed it will be the studio’s next release, followed by Fallout 5. However there’s still no release date for The Elder Scrolls 6.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the studio would be allowing one fan the opportunity to design their own NPC for the game – all they need to do is win the charity auction.

“This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity allows you to immortalise yourself in one of the most highly anticipated video games of all time, The Elder Scrolls 6,” the description reads. “The Elder Scrolls series, developed by Bethesda Game Studios, is renowned for its vast open worlds, deep lore, and immersive storytelling. With this exclusive experience, you’ll work with the developers to create a custom character that will appear in the game, leaving your mark on the legendary franchise.”

Bidding is currently at $10,450 (£8295) and the auction will end February 22 at 11pm GMT. All money raised will go towards the Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic charity, who “create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.”

Despite being announced in 2018, production on The Elder Scrolls 6 only started in 2023. Around the same time, Howard admitted that he wished he’d announced the game “more casually” than he did. “I will say that we want it to fill that role of the ultimate fantasy-world simulator. And there are different ways to accomplish that given the time that has passed,” he added.

Howard has also said The Elder Scrolls 6 could be the last game he makes. “If I do the math, I’m not getting any younger. “I want [development] to be faster, but speed isn’t the goal.”

In other news, a new report claims Grand Theft Auto 6 will take influence from games such as Roblox and Fortnite.
