Bebe Rexha reveals pregnancy loss after Azealia Banks’ Met Gala body-shaming

Bebe Rexha has revealed that she went through a pregnancy loss, following Azealia Banks criticising her appearance at the Met Gala.

The singer faced harsh comments from the rapper after she made an appearance at the 2025 edition of the Met Gala over the weekend. Writing on X/Twitter, Banks shared her thoughts on the outfits of those attending the event, and shared particularly hurtful comments about Rexha’s weight.

“Sis gives me – hormonal birth control implant or something,” the rapper wrote. “It’s giving Implanon/NuvaRing she needs removed or depo shot that needs to stop happening (I’m not even tryna play her).”

Rexha responded, implying that Banks should seek some professional help and stop criticising others’ bodies.

“You might wanna jump on some type of therapy, sis,” she wrote. “Lexapro worked great for me. Something that helps with the deep-rooted sadness and chaos you keep projecting. Healing looks good on everyone. Try it.”

She then shared another update, which has now been deleted, sharing the emotional impact of seeing people discuss her weight. In the update, she explained that she suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome – a hormonal disorder that can affect chances of getting pregnant – and asked for people to think twice before commenting on someone’s appearance.

“I’m tired of people commenting on my weight,” she wrote. “I have PCOS and struggle with infertility. I got pregnant, and it didn’t work out and I’ve been carrying that pain in silence.”

“I never owed anyone that truth, but maybe now you’ll think twice before commenting on anyone’s body,” she added.

As highlighted by Billboard, this isn’t the first time that the singer has been open with fans about her health. Back in 2019, for instance, she took to social media to explain that she had been diagnosed as having bipolar disorder.

“For the longest time, I didn’t understand why I felt so sick,” she shared. “Why I felt lows that made me not want to leave my house or be around people and why I felt highs that wouldn’t let me sleep, wouldn’t let me stop working or creating music. Now I know why.”

“I’m bipolar and I’m not ashamed anymore.”

In other Bebe Rexha news, last year the singer claimed that she was “threatened” and banned from a flight as a “hate crime”. Before then, she kicked a crowd member out of her show for trying to throw an object at her during a performance. “If you hit me with something on stage I’ll take you for everything you’ve fucking done,” she said.
