Millie Bobby Brown has reportedly accused her Stranger Things co-star David Harbour of “harassment and bullying” on set.
The fifth and final season of the hit Netflix show is set to air before the end of the year, but as reported by the Mail On Sunday, Brown filed a claim against her on-screen adopted father before the new episodes were filmed.
Harbour is said to have faced an internal inquiry following Brown’s complaints, although the publication notes there were no claims of sexual impropriety.
A source told the newspaper: “Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season. There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.”
Netflix have so far declined to comment on any investigation, and the newspaper reported that the outcome of the inquiry is not known.
Brown plays Eleven in the show, a character with telepathic and psychokinetic abilities, who becomes an adoptive daughter to Harbour’s Jim Hopper, the local police chief. The first portion of the final season will arrive on November 27 at 1am GMT, while the second will drop at the same time on December 26. Its finale them follows at 1am on New Year’s Day in the UK.
The show’s final episode will also debut in over 350 cinemas in the US and UK, with the screenings starting at 5pm PT on December 31 – the same time as it drops on Netflix.
The fresh allegations come at a time when Harbour has also been in the headlines as a result of his ex-partner Lily Allen’s new album ‘West End Girl’, which has been largely written about their breakup.
One song in particular, ‘Madeline’, sees Allen apparently chronicle the details of an affair that Harbour had while they were still together, with Allen reading out a voice note from the constructed titular character. “I can’t trust anything that comes out of your mouth / I’m not convinced that he didn’t fuck you in our house,” she sings in the song.
Since the album’s release, a woman named Natalie Tippett has come forward claiming to be the woman that was having an affair with Harbour, while Allen further provoked Harbour by dressing as the French children’s character Madeleine for Halloween.
News of Allen’s separation from Harbour arose towards the start of the year, amid rumours that there was cheating on the Stranger Things star’s part. Earlier this year, Allen revealed that she went into a treatment centre to deal with the “emotional turmoil” of the split.
‘West End Girl’ received a four-star review from NME, and praised as “a sleek, smart collection that sees Allen back at her very best”.
“There’s rage behind the pulsating ‘Ruminating’ as she struggles with the realities of an open marriage, playful other woman anthem ‘Madeline’ is a dizzying cocktail of uncertainty, fury and empathy, while the gorgeous ‘Just Enough’ is as crushing as it gets, heartbreak amplified by lush strings. It feels like a much-needed purge.”
