The opening credits gag was shown as part of The Simpsons’ 795th episode Bad Boys… For Life? which aired last night (November 2). During the couch gag, Homer, Marge, Lisa, Maggie and Bart run into their living room, only to find a handful of familiar Fortnite faces sitting on their sofa. Most manage to escape but poor Peely gets captured via laser gun. The next scene reveals that The Simpsons have turned the fan-favourite fruit into a giant banana split.
“I’m going to have nightmares,” wrote one fan. “That’s gore of my comfort character on my timeline,” added another. “What are the vegetarian ethics surrounding eating an anthropomorphic banana? Asking for Lisa Simpson,” said a third.

Over the weekend, The Simpsons returned to Fortnite for the first time in more than a decade. The month-long crossover event launched on Saturday (November 1) and will run until the start of Chapter 7 Season 1, which is expected to go live December 2, 2025.
“Drop from the Battle Bus into… Springfield? The 80-player Springfield Island features a fast-paced, back-to-basics Battle Royale experience straight from the minds behind The Simpsons,” reads a press release. “Giant donuts will fall from the sky and angry clones will roam the streets, but don’t worry, Homer Simpson is in charge. Check out Delulu for new Simpsons weapons during the Season and prepare for a month of gags, gadgets, and Simpsons animated shorts!”
Four shorts will air in Fortnite during the month-long event via the Quests tab. They can also be found on Disney+. According to Epic Games, the mini episodes will “preview the mayhem of the week”.
The Simpsons x Fortnite shorts are:
Apocalypse D’Oh (November 1)
Sugar High (November 10)
Multiplidiocy (November 17)
The Incredible Bulk (November 24)
The crossover has only been out for a few days but is already a hit with fans. However some are frustrated about the lack of decent Simpsons’ games, following the shutdown of Tapped Out earlier this year.
“I love seeing all of Springfield recreated in Fortnite, even if I have never touched the game before. It also makes me sad that we haven’t had a good Simpsons video game in how long now? Wish a studio like Nightdive got the chance to remaster Hit And Run,” wrote one fan on Reddit. “Maybe if The Simpsons stuff in Fortnite sells well, execs will realise there’s a market for a full game,” said another.
In other news, Resident Evil has confirmed that it will be teaming up with Babymetal as part of the horror game’s 30th anniversary.
