Fans of Celebrity Traitors have been warned to avoid social media after the season finale leaked in Canada.

The final episode of the season will be broadcast tonight (Thursday November 6) on BBC One, and a handful of UK cinemas will also be showing the long-awaited conclusion.

However, some fans in Canada already know the outcome as the streaming platform Crave accidentally aired it in full last night – nearly 24 hours ahead of the scheduled launch on BBC.

The episode was taken down from Crave after a couple of hours, and the BBC has since acknowledged the mishap, urging people not to share spoilers online and suggesting fans avoid social media if they don’t want to find out who wins ahead of time.

“We kindly ask anyone who thinks they know the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves,” said a spokesperson for the BBC (via Deadline). “Please avoid sharing potential spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been faithfully following every twist and turn of the series can enjoy the final this evening.”

On Reddit, fans have also discussed the leak and asked for fellow viewers to keep details about the finale to themselves until everyone has had the chance to watch the episode live.

“PSA: The finale of the Celebrity Traitors was accidentally leaked in Canada yesterday. Stay away from Traitors news and communities if you don’t want to get spoiled,” one wrote, while others in the replies claimed that many of the online updates revealing the winner have been taken down.

Each episode of this season has attracted millions of viewers, and the five contestants who have made it to the final are singer-songwriter Cat Burns, comedian Alan Carr, Ted Lasso star and comedian Nick Mohammed, rugby player Joe Marler, and history presenter David Olusoga.

Carr and Burns are the remaining traitors after the ousting of Jonathan Ross, with Mohammed, Marler and Olusoga are all attempting to sniff them out in hopes of winning £100,000 for a charity of their choice.

The first episode aired on October 8, and saw over 12million people tune in. Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, contestants have included singers Paloma Faith and Charlotte Church, Olympian Tom Daley, and presenters Clare Balding and Sir Stephen Fry.

Last week, Carr confessed he’s no longer friends with Paloma Faith after ‘murdering’ her on the show, and fellow finalist Cat Burns released the mellow new single ‘Please Don’t Hate Me’ while taking part in the series.

Nick Mohammed has also opened up about the behind-the-scenes restrictions that come with being a contestant, including having “all your devices taken from you”, only being allowed “one phone conversation a day” with immediate family, and not even being told what time it is by crew members.
