The Simpsons character Alice Glick has been killed off after 35 seasons.
The long-running Springfield First Church organist finally came to an end on episode seven of the show’s 37th season after she keeled over onto her organ and died suddenly in the middle of a sermon by Reverend Lovejoy.
Her death served as the focus for the rest of the episode – titled Sashes To Sashes – which saw Glick leave her estate to Springfield Elementary to fund the school’s new music programme.
It comes after she was previously seemingly killed by a rogue robot seal during season 23, appearing afterwards as both alive and a ghost depending on the needs of the episode.
Alice Glick died once again in Season 37, Episode 7.

But executive producer Tim Long has confirmed that Glick has officially exited the series this time.
In a statement via People, he said: “In a sense, Alice the organist will live forever, through the beautiful music she made. But in another, more important sense, yep she’s dead as a doornail.”
She first made her debut back in the season two episode Three Men And A Comic Book, where she was originally voiced by Cloris Leachman. In subsequent appearances, her voice was provided by Tress MacNeille.
Meanwhile, The Simpsons and King Of The Hill writer Dan McGrath passed away, aged 61, last Friday (November 14) after suffering a stroke.
He was credited as either a writer, story editor or executive story consultant on 50 episodes of the animated series, as well as a consulting producer on 20.
Some of his most notable works included Bart Of Darkness, Boy-Scoutz ’N The Hood, a few Treehouse Of Horror episodes, and Homer’s Phobia – the latter winning him an Emmy.
It was recently confirmed that The Simpsons would be getting a second film in 2027, which comes 20 years after the last big screen spin-off. The animated show also recently launched a Fortnite crossover event, the first in over a decade, while a recent episode of the show featured a Fortnite couch gag.
