Haim have announced their next single ‘Down To Be Wrong’. Listen to a preview snippet below.

The song will mark the third preview of the Los Angeles trio’s upcoming fourth album, following on from ‘Relationships’ and ‘Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out’.

“This is going to be a fun week,” they wrote on social media. “Our next single ‘Down To Be Wrong’ out Thursday [April 24]!! video FRIDAY! [April 25].”

Haim also shared the official cover artwork, which spoofs a 2004 paparazzi photo of Jared Leto checking his phone while kissing Scarlett Johansson. This continues the theme of their recent covers, paying homage to Nicole Kidman’s divorce-paper-signing meme and referencing an iconic Kate Moss image.

Additionally, the group gave fans a taste of ‘Down To Be Wrong’ in a video on TikTok. “I QUIT MEN,” they wrote as a caption. You can check out the posts here:

Haim are due to make their live return this week with two hometown shows at “LA’s premier independent music venue”, The Bellwether. The performances will mark the band’s first full gigs since September 2023.

Their “rock”-influenced as-yet-announced fourth album will follow on from 2020’s ‘Women In Music Pt. III’.

During a recent interview, Haim revealed that their new record would contain a sample of George Michael’s ‘Freedom! ’90’ – which had yet to be cleared.

The song in question, titled ‘Gone’, serves as the opener to the LP, and reportedly captures the feeling of clarity after a break-up. The album will also feature a track called ‘Take Me Back’.

Alana Haim told I-D that the upcoming record was “the closest we’ve ever gotten to how we wanted to sound”, adding that it was a “completely different experience” recording this time around.

Haim once again worked with producer Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire WeekendClairo) on the album. Recalling the process, Danielle explained: “Working with Rostam, in general it’s very quick, kinetic with him, which I really love as an artist. Maybe before, it wasn’t that way, it was kind of a more… longer, searching, laboured situation.”

The trio also have slots scheduled at Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025, and Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Porto. One of their last concerts was a headline set at London’s All Points East in 2023.

Meanwhile, frontwoman Danielle Haim has joined forces with Bon Iver on his recent single ‘If Only I Could Wait’.
