By far, the Gamescom announcement that has generated the most excitement is LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. This takes the formula from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and builds upon it by effectively creating a LEGO game with all the best parts of Batman.
From iconic film and TV moments, to deep cut comic book highlights, to the combat from the Batman Arkham games, everything is here for longtime Batman fans, and many are keen to go hands-on with a demo. So, is there a public demo, and if not, how have people gone hands-on?
Unfortunately, there isn’t a public demo for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight yet. The public and press were able to go hands-on with the game at Gamescom 2025, but WB Games hasn’t announced any plans to expand this demo’s reach.
We are still quite a way off from launch in 2026 (rumour suggests it will be in the Spring), so you will have to sit back and wait a while longer.
If this changes, we will be sure to update this guide with details on the demo and how you can get your hands on it. While TT Games aren’t known for releasing demos before launch, the amount of excitment for this game could mean we see a public demo sooner rather than later to drum up hype ahead of the game’s launch.
We will have even more on the game as we get closer to launch, so be sure to stay tuned. For even more on Gamescom, check out our roundup of all the announcements during Opening Night Live. It was a stacked show with a lot of exciting games releasing in 2026 or later this year, so it is worth catching up.
