Noel Gallagher creates exclusive artwork to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust

Noel Gallagher has created exclusive artwork that will be sold to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The charity efforts come as the singer, songwriter, guitarist and Oasis icon is an ambassador for the UK charity, which works to provide specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer.

There are two pieces that are going up for sale, each of which was originally created by Gallagher during the COVID-19 pandemic, and have been reimagined as two new print editions.

Describing the artwork, the musician said: “These pieces are actually photographed images of my sons’ two bedroom doors that I started to sticker bomb due to boredom during the first few weeks of the Covid-19 lockdown in March and April 2020.

“I got into it so much that I ended up sticker bombing an entire bathroom at my studio!”

Both will be sold exclusively on a new platform created by artists and fellow Teenage Cancer Trust ambassadors The Connor Brothers. Called Sunday Is Boring, the brothers said that the aim of the site is to “collaborate with artists and creatives who sit outside of the conventional art world.” They continued: “We are delighted to be working with Noel again to raise much needed funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. As fathers and people whose lives have been directly affected by cancer, it is a cause that is very close to our hearts.”

There will be one variation of Noel’s artwork that will be limited to 300 unsigned prints, and these will go on sale for £100 each. The second version will be limited to 100 prints and each will come hand-signed by Noel; these will be on sale for £750 each and all proceeds will go directly to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Both new versions will go on sale today (September 18) at 5pm BST. Visit here for more information.

“We’re enormously grateful to our ambassadors Noel Gallagher and The Connor Brothers for coming together on this special collaboration in support of Teenage Cancer Trust,” said Jane Ashton, Head of Music and Entertainment at Teenage Cancer Trust. “This stunning limited-edition artwork not only raises vital funds but also shines a light on the needs of young people facing cancer.

“Creative partnerships like this play a powerful role in helping us reach more young people with specialist care and support. We can’t thank Noel and The Connor Brothers enough for their generosity and commitment.”

This latest launch marks the second time that Noel has joined forces with the Connor Brothers for Teenage Cancer Trust – with them also collaborating on a project called You Can Have It All in 2022.

In other Noel Gallagher and Oasis news, the band’s music is set to feature in the new reissue of War Child’s landmark 1995 charity album ‘Help’ in celebration of its 30th anniversary.

First released in 1995, the ‘Hurt’ charity compilation album – which was mastered by Brian Eno, and featured artwork from John Squire – was recorded across a single day in September 1995. It was released a week later in a bid to raise funds for children affected by the Bosnian conflict.

Oasis will head back to the UK for two extra shows at Wembley Stadium at the end of this month. They go on to play South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil before the end of the year.
