London–born rapper Tion Wayne has been accused of causing “carnage” after blocking a road in the Peak District to film a music video.

Police were called to the famous route on Winnats Pass, Derbyshire, on October 19 after reports came in that cars were blocking off the road.

There, the UK rap artist was filming a new music video for his single ‘Streets A Lie’ and had blocked off the road with a £300,000 Rolls-Royce. The Times shares that he allegedly had his entourage block off both entrances of the narrow hill pass, so he could get a shot without traffic.

The outlet also reported that residents in the area accused the move of creating “gridlock traffic”.

For the music video, Wayne was reportedly filmed standing in the rain by the side of a black Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and the video also features a Range Rover and an orange Lamborghini.

On TikTok, Wayne shared a video and said that he “locked off Peak District till the Feds came”. In another video from his visit to Castleton, which has over five million views, he said: “Winnats Pass Gave Us A Pass”.

“No one in the village is happy about it,” a local called Leo Randall told The Times, accusing Wayne and co. of using the area like “a playground”. “It’s not a five-minute job shot on an iPhone. If anyone was to do that in any other form of business, there would be police coming, the council would be breathing down their neck.”

“We’ve had our fair share of bad parking across the Peaks — but blocking Winnats Pass with a £300,000 Rolls-Royce really takes the mick,” added Jon Pearce, the Labour MP for High Peak.

“I completely understand why Tion Wayne would want to film his music video here — it’s one of the most beautiful places in the UK. But like everyone who visits, he needs to respect local communities and not block a vital road that residents and visitors rely on every day.”

The rapper, real name Dennis Junior Odunwo, has gained recognition through singles including ‘Body’ and ‘Keisha & Becky’ with Russ Millions. In 2021, the latter track topped the charts and won the MOBO Award for Song of the Year.
